WET ANIMAL: TROUBLE Side-Project To Release Debut Album In May
March 30, 2005WET ANIMAL, the Illinois-based quartet featuring TROUBLE members Rick Wartell (guitar) and Jeff "Oly" Olson (drums),will release their ten-song debut CD via Escapi in May.
WET ANIMAL was created in the summer or 1999 by Wartell and vocalist Shane Pasqualla (hailing from West Virginia). They found very early into the project that they are a great songwriting team with unlimited potential to produce one great song after another. Their styles range from rock to metal, but don't be fooled — there is much more influence in WET ANIMAL the further you look.
WET ANIMAL were recently joined by legendary TROUBLE drummer Jeff Olson (Berklee grad and music instructor) to add to the versatility and creativity of this act. Jeff has appeared on no less than ten studio works collectively and is one of rock's most creative drummers. Michael Diprima of Chicago completes the lineup and brings an amassing bass tone to go along with his steady, yet creative style. Vito, as he is know around town, played bass with Rick in the first TROUBLE lineup. Rick says, "Vito was the last piece of the puzzle."
WET ANIMAL have played some local shows in recent times with members of METALICA, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and THE SMASHING PUMPKINS in attendance. WET ANIMAL reportedly "stole" the show in a co-headline set at the Double Door in Chicago.
